Woman’s Hour

We’re honoured to welcome the fantastic Woman’s Hour to SHAKE THE HIGH ROAD for their first live show in a year. The band are working towards their second album on Secretly Canadian records (The War On Drugs, Bon Iver) - the follow-up to 2014’s beautiful debut ‘Conversations’, which was The Line of Best Fit’s ‘Debut Album of the Year’ and Drowned in Sound’s Neptune Album Prize winner.

Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Quintet

A former member of Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80 band, Dele Sosimi brings his five-piece afrobeat quintet for what is going to be an incredible-sounding performance of Nigerian-influenced funk.

Raf Daddy (DJ Set)

One half of The 2 Bears, Raf Daddy joins us for a DJ set and make sure you tune in for this as one of London’s most revered record selectors is in control.

Bullion (DJ Set)

One of the most original producers around with a love of experimental funk and leftfield synth grooves, Bullion is also the owner of the wonder DEEK Records, one of the best independent labels around. And he’s a cracking DJ too, recently playing the Boiler Room, and we can’t wait to hear his diverse selections. 


A truly wonderful Icelandic disco don with a love of bouncing synthlines and hugely fun melodies - any fans of Todd Terje will absolutely love the late night session with Hermigervill.


Signed to the excellent Damanged Goods, two-piece Cowbell craft an irresistible garage rock sound with a joyful Motown-influence. They’re gearing up for the release of their third album and will be showcasing cuts from it and their much-cherished first two LPs at this sure-to-be-a-roadblock SHAKE THE HIGH ROAD show.


One of the best new party bands around, Kioko are a reggae act with a contemporary twist, bringing a real energy and dynamism to their stage show. David Roddigan is already a fan, playing them on his Radio 1Xtra show, and we guarantee you’ll fall in love with them too.

Selfie Boy

Raf from The 2 Bears’ new artist side project, an eclectic magpie mix of the influences that have shaped one of London’s best music heads. Expect to hear an absorbing live show. 

Rob Smoughton (Black Peaches)

Black Peaches released one of the best albums of 2016, a warm mix of 70s inspired soft rock, country soul and the deeper side of disco. And we’re delighted that the mand behind Black Peaches, Rob Smoughton (who also moonlights with Hot Chip for their live shows) is coming along for a very special solo show. 

Lazy Day

Fantastic new indie-pop band from London who’ve already sold out various venues in the capital. They’re signed to Lost Map Records, the fine label run by Scottish indie legend Pictish Trail. If you like Wolf Alice then we think you’re going to love the sound of Lazy Day.


Two-piece new wave electronic act with a love of soundtracks. Their recent EP has found love with Resident Advisor, Complex and Data Transmission and live, it’s an audio-visual feast, with the band playing live to a cut-up montage of specially created projections.

My Sad Captains

Signed to Bella Union, the home of John Grant and Fleet Foxes, My Sad Captains are a much cherished local band with a majestic indie-folk sound, building up haunting soundscapes with soaring majestic vocals.


A magnificent new folk talent, Westerman is part of the DEEK Records crew, a label run by Bullion (see above). With an glorious soulful voice and magnificent uplifting songs, Westerman brings to mind the likes of Kings of Convience and Jose Gonzalez. 


Hints of Beach House and Polica in this fantastic London dream-pop band who’ve been slowly unveiling understated gems over the last couple of years and are now ready for a big 2017.

Rory Butler

New Scottish singer-songwriter who’s been compared to John Martyn. His debut single ‘Black and Blue’ has been played over 600,000 times on Spotify and we can’t wait to hear him at our festival.

Danielle Perry (DJ Set)

Danielle Perry’s weekend radio show The Sunday Night Music Club on Absolute Radio is a massively succesful, much cherished institution, and as well as that she’s a writer for Q Magazine, a podcaster for Drowned In Sound, and a cracking rock ‘n’ roll DJ!

Kate Hutchinson (DJ Set)

The Deputy Editor of the Guardian Guide and a Worldwide FM DJ, spinning African house jams through to cosmic disco and beyond to the Red Lion Ballroom.


With nods to Gold Panda and Holden, Vonica is a new London electronic live act with a love of treasure trove samples chopped and reworked into great dancefloor workouts.

Shuffle honed his DJ craft in the mid 70s, while touring as marketing assistant for Led Zeppelin. Influnced by the icons of the day and relentless exposure to new-world material, his sound joins the dots between the dancefloors of 1980s Lagos and the pubs of 2017 Luton. A real crowd pleaser.

A skilled turntablist will be bringing his vinyl mix of funk and soul to the Luna Lounge for an early evening party.

Olaf’s sets cover all corners and include everything from 60s soul, funk and Bollywood to Krautrock and psych.
