Steve Davis & Kavus Torabi - Steve Davis, one of the greatest snooker players of all time, was always a serious vinyl collector, and in recent years he's began showcasing this incredible music knowledge alongside fellow DJ Kavus Torabi (who's been a lynchpin of the alternative music scene for many a year). Expect an inspiring genre-spanning DJ set from the duo - it's going to be a real trip.

London Astrobeat Orchestra - They've rocked festivals all summmer, from Bestival to Kendal Calling, and now one of the capital's best party bands are coming to E11, performing their legendary Talking Heads set. 

Big Fish Little Fish's Family Rave - A special daytime treat for the wee ones, with the famed soundsystem joining us for an afternoon rave for families!

Black Peaches - Rob Smoughton, the man behind Black Peaches, performed a beautiful solo set at SHAKE last year, so we're delighted we have the full band this year playing their first London show in a good while! You really need to hear their country funk / blue-eyed soul experience in the flesh, they’re one of the best live bands around.

Jack Cooper - The voice of two of the most underated British bands of recent years, Ultimate Painting and Mazes, Jack Cooper’s beautiful debut solo album 'Sandgrown' was released on Trouble In Mind Records in 2017 - with fans including Mark Riley on 6Music, DIY Magazine, and Loud & Quiet. 

Amaroun - Jay Brown AKA Amaroun is one of the most exciting new singer-songwriters around, existing at the sonic crossroads where Erykah Badu, Eels, PJ Harvey and Feist meet. She’s been played on Radio 1 and 6Music.

Psychic Markers - Signed to the mighty Bella Union (home of Fleet Foxes and John Grant) Psychic Markers bring a heady mix of dark rock ‘n’ roll with a hedonistic Krautrock spirit. They’ve just unveiled a new single just in time for SHAKE!

Max Pope - He’s had a quiet couple of years since bursting onto the scene with a raft of killer early singles that had the likes of The Line Of Best Fit and Clash Magazine so excited. There’re hints of doo-wop, jazz and blues in his songwriting, but this is no retro throwback for he brings a youthful contemporary flavour that’s won him a dedicated fanbase. We’re looking forward to his first London show in some time!

Liz Lawrence - Recently dropping a magnificent double A-side single (mixed by Jack Steadman from Bombay Bicycle Club and Mr Jukes) Liz Lawrence is a brilliant and inspiring singer/songwriter with an beautiful, soaring voice who’s been celebrated by many a tastemaker. Formerly part of electronic duo Cash & David, Lawrence’s new solo venture is incredibly exciting and watch her soar in 2019.

Fröst - Fans of Stereolab, Broadcast and Gwenno will love this thrilling new Brighton band, with a visceral motorik groove and beautiful glacial pop songs. Lauren Laverne and Guy Garvey on 6Music are both fans.

Scott Xylo - Signed to one of the UK’s most interesting indies, Black Acre, Scott Xylo is a Leicester-based artist who blends afrobeat and jazz with a cut’n’paste MPC aesthetic. Fans of Madlib and Thundercat will feel right at home with his magpie soundscapes that skit between genres.

Tiger Lion - Lauded by The Line Of Best Fit for their brand new single which just dropped in early October, Tiger Lion are a ethereal synth-pop act with hints of St Vincent, Dirty Projectors and Warpaint. 

Zapatilla - Joining us for late night SHAKE THE HIGH ROAD session is upcoming dance act Zapatilla, whose live sets melds synths and electronics with a beautiful organic flair featuring live finger pianos and a haunting vocal. He's had support from Gilles Peterson and Mixmag, and rocked festivals including Lost Village and All Points East all summer.

ALLTHINGSMATA - Featured as ‘New Wave’ on Radio 1 this week, ALLTHINGSMATA is the solo work of Luis Ferber, a brilliant songwriter who’s worked with Loyle Carner, Maccabees and some dude called Mick Jagger. He played at British Summer Time in July, on the bill supporting The Cure. Inspired fresh garage-pop with a hint of Leonard Cohen/Serge Gainsbourg storytelling.

Oh Maddie - Exciting new band whose debut release arrived earlier this year with 6Music, Radio X, and Clash all supporting. Americana with a modern twist, they’ve been compared to Future Islands and The Killers with a hint of Tom Waits and Jonny Cash.

Average Joe - He’s only dropped one single but there’s already a great deal of heat around new storyteller Average Joe, who’s late night tales about lost love and misadventures will click with any fans of Sleaford Mods, King Krule or The Streets.

The President Lincoln - Signed to Nile Mile Records in Austin, USA, The President Lincoln are a locally-based Americana-influenced act playing their first UK show since supporting indie legends The Posies last year. 6Music’s Steve Lamacq is a supporter, while Louder Than War celebrated their sound, noting it shared “the baroque ache of The Decembrists” with “the skewed indie of Built to Spill”. 

John Rogers presents The East London Writers Club - Leytonstone-based writer John Rogers is a highly acclaimed author and film-maker, chornicling London life beautifully in his book ‘This Other London’ and his online documentary series ‘The Lost Byway’. For this special SHAKE exclusive, John will be joined by three fellow East London authors Will Ashon, Travis Elborough and Neil Fraser, for a discussion on the capital, literature, inspirations, and music.

Wicketkeeper - Instrument-swapping London trio Wicketkeeper create a shonky indie pop that’s been likened to Pavement and Sebadoh by Clash Magazine. A jangly upbeat racket comprised of loose drums and crunchy guitars, and what a fun way to spend a late Saturday evening!

The Leyton-Stones (East London Rolling Stones tribute) - For one night only.... welcome The Leyton-Stones, a unique tribute to Jagger, Richards and co. with a greatest hits set performed with an E11 twist.  This might be The Last Time you ever hear them, and a perfect Emotional Rescue after a heavy week at work.

Kit Records present HESTITATION & Electric Capablanca - Kit Records is a brilliant and bold locally based record label that loves to push the boundaries with its experimental output. They’re bringing two of their latest signings to perform live, with HESITATION’s debut album being one of the best of the year, a meditative soundscape of stripped guitars, sax and electronics. Electric Capablanca is a brand new project from Kit signing Martin Glass.

Zelt - Walthamstow-based duo making a dancefloor-based hybrid of post-punk and North/West African influences, they’re previewing new material scheduled for early 2019. An adrenaline shot of punk-funk for your Saturday afternoon!

Cowboy Flying Saucer - Another local act, Cowboy Flying Saucer have been getting attention on 6Music via the wonderful Gideon Coe, and this slice of psychdelic post-punk is going to be the perfect tonic to start your SHAKE all-dayer.


Balearic Assassins Of Love (DJ Set) - Brighton/London-based DJ team with a motto - ‘last record of the night, all night’. Renowned for serious crate digging across the genres, mixed with classics you forgot you loved, this is going to be a perfect late night session to close up our All Day Funk & Soul Session.
